Can prayer result in healing? Yes. The Word of God attests that prayer can make the sick person well (Jas. 5:15). We must remember that God is sovereign. Therefore, while we can pray for healing, God acts consistent with His Will, not our requests. The prayer of the people of God, however, should not be underestimated. The prayer of the people of God is “powerful and effective.” Word Power #13 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (Jas. 5:15-16)
